Washington -- Chrysler Group LLC says it will not fight a new law giving the dealers it ordered closed last June the right to appeal.
The company said today it is "going forward" with the arbitration process under which 409 of the 789 dealerships that were closed during its stay in bankruptcy court filed appeals.
Congress gave the Chrysler dealers, and 2,000 General Motors dealers, the right to challenge their closings. Both companies sought to prune their dealer networks as part of their bankruptcy and restructuring.
